Care & styling: Trim the wick to a quarter inch before every burn and keep the pool clear of trimmings.
A great fit if
  • No toxins, no black marks appearing on any wall.
  • Two candles mean one for the bedroom and one for a reading corner or bathroom simultaneously.
  • You are curating a bedroom and want pieces that feel intentional together.
Maybe look elsewhere if
  • Your room is strictly committed to a sleek and formal aesthetic with no boho eclectic elements.
  • You prefer understated, background accents rather than a piece with visual personality.

How to style it in your bedroom

The details that decide whether it looks considered or just put there. Worth two minutes before you commit to a spot.

  1. Pick one scent family per floor: fresh near the kitchen, warm and woody in living areas, soft and clean in bedrooms, so nothing clashes as you move through.
  2. Burn a new candle until the whole top has melted, usually two to three hours. Cut it short once and it will tunnel for the rest of its life.
  3. Trim the wick to about a quarter inch before every burn. That is what stops the smoke and the black mark creeping up the glass.
  4. Match the candle to the room size. One wick is plenty for a bedroom or bathroom; open-plan spaces need a three wick, or two candles placed well apart.
  5. Group them at mixed heights on a tray. The tray is what turns a few candles into styling instead of clutter.
  6. Keep them away from draughts, curtains and the edge of the mantel. Moving air makes the flame dance and the wax burn down one side.
  7. Light them about 20 minutes before people arrive, so the scent has spread through the room by the time anyone walks in.
  8. Keep the vessel when the wax runs out. Freeze it, pop the last disc out, and you have a brush pot or a small planter.

Let this piece serve as a defined anchor, keeping surrounding accent surfaces clean so its craftsmanship stands out.

Good to know

Candles questions, answered

Soy wax or paraffin, which is better?
Soy burns slower and cleaner with less soot, which is why most of these are soy or a soy blend. Paraffin throws scent strongly but burns through faster.
How do I make a candle burn evenly?
On the first burn, let the wax melt all the way to the edge, usually 2 to 3 hours. Trim the wick to a quarter inch before each burn to cut smoking and tunneling.
Are these scented, and how strong is the throw?
Most listings note the scent and whether it is a soft or strong throw. A single candle suits a bedroom; larger rooms may want two placed apart.
How long do they burn?
A standard soy jar runs roughly 40 to 50 hours; larger three-wick jars go longer. The retailer listing gives the exact burn time.
